Guide for Batman: Arkham City (2024)

On to the story!

The main story line does a good job of holding your hand throughout, however this walkthrough does contain spoilers, you have been warned. Also, Catwoman's missions are meant solely to act as segues for moments where she appears in Batman's storyline and aren't critical to knowing what's going on. There are 12 side quests that will become available at different times as well as a few "miscellaneous" objectives that you can complete just about whenever you want, including a missable one.

Feel free to pick up any Riddler Trophies, or solve riddles along the way. If you cannot access them immediately don't fret, some are only accessible when you have specific gadgets. When you see a trophy you cannot access look at it and hold LB until it tells you it has been added to your map that way you can go back at a later date. In certain areas there are specific things to collect, for example penguins in the museum, I will remind you of this, but you may want to use the guide link below to mop them up. In the industrial estate and amusem*nt mile there are Joker balloons scattered around that you need to pop, and throughout the map are a number of CCTV camera's, if you identify the Tyger CCTV control centre you can hack this near the end of the game and this will tag all of the locations of the cameras for that specific area. I will not be making mention of specific locations for trophies, or how to solve random riddles etc, however if you do find yourself missing any just press the back button and move to the Riddler tab, and then cross reference with:

I will make mention of when side quests become available, feel free to pick these up during your play through, or wait till the end. I would recommend picking them up as you go through, completing them will give you XP improving your character and making the game easier overall, but it is entirely your choice.

The beginning of the game will start you off as Catwoman or Bruce Wayne depending on if you do or don't have the Catwoman bundle pack. Once you control Bruce Wayne you must free yourself from your original predicament by moving the left stick to and fro. The beginning will act as a tutorial of sorts, teaching you how to counter and the basics of movement and combat. Once you get to the top of a building you will finally be able to contact Alfred who will then send you your suit. Jump across to the Ace Chemicals building and meander to the top to receive your first achievement.

You'll then need to decrypt a signal. You will be directed to go to a Courthouse where Catwoman is being held. Head to the Courthouse, defeat the outdoor goons, then head inside. You will need to head upstairs where you will eventually find an open room where Catwoman is being held hostage. Take out the goon with the gun and cross the tightrope. Glide down and deal with the sizeable collection of henchmen and you will eventually free your leather-clad buddy, unlocking:

Your next objective will be analyzing the trajectory of the bullet that came zipping in through the window. Use Detective Mode (press LB) to scan the window's bullethole and where the bullet crashed on the ground. This is your first of four chances to get the games sole missable achievement, so let's go ahead and knock that out. Head to one of the double doors that were locked when you first went into the Courthouse. Walk towards the entrance and then up the stairs where the viewing area into the Courthouse is. Once you get to the top of the stairs turn left and head out the door with the green exit sign above it, and this will lead to a balcony. Look to the building across from the Courthouse entrance, a mysterious caped gentleman that can now be seen on the roof (click in the right thumbstick to zoom in if you can't see him). BEFORE you approach him, whip out your Remote Batarang and throw it towards him to unlock:

After throwing your Batarang, approach the mysterious male to start the side mission, Watcher in the Wings. This will be discussed further in the side missions section of the guide.

The Courthouse is also home to another one of the games miscellaneous achievements, Storyteller. I will go into detail about this in the side missions section.

Moving on. You'll then need to head to the church to find out more about that bullet. Head through the front door (after dealing with some goons first) and you'll encounter a cut scene with Harley Quinn. This will meld into your first Predator scenario. Take out the four foes in this room using whatever creative means necessary and then receive:

Afterward, head back to the entrance and enter the door on your left. This will lead upstairs where you will discover the source of the fired bullet. Discovering it is a trap, jump out of the window.

The side mission, Distress Flare becomes available at this point.

The AR training also now becomes available, and is recommended to do early as it gives you the grapnel boost.

From this point in the game, you could randomly come across a ringing phone, answering this will lead to the side mission, Cold Call Killer.

Your next objective will be to go to the Steel Mill, located in the southeast portion of the map, head there and Batman will have to find a way to get into the Steel Mill. Use RB after speaking to Alfred to enter the Steel Mill through the chimney. Navigate through the area until you see some goons through a grate and you will eventually unlock:

Make your way through the tunnels, past some pipes that shoot out fire and eventually you will be stood up again in a room adjacent to where Harley was. Enter detective mode and follow a pipe to 3 switches that require you to use your Batarang in quick succession to switch of the steam. Just continually tap LT moving the left stick left and right and eventually you will get them. Head to the main room where you will have to take out a number of goons. A short cut scene with Harley and you will be directed to save the doctor, so make your way through to the Smelting room, again fighting a number of goons on the way. You will eventually save the doctor and get a new gadget, the Remote Electrical Charge.

Time to get back to trying to find the Joker. Make your way back through to the room where you had a cut scene with Harley, and using your new gadget activate the giant hook to smash the door down, grappel upto the new opening and you will now have to fight a number of goons including a one armed Lieutenant. Take these down to unlock:

For all you Catwoman owners out there you're about to control her for the second time now. You first have to run by her apartment and grab her swag, so follow your objective marker to the apartment building. There will be some baddies there but they shouldn't be a problem to deal with. Grab your stuff and then you'll need to head to the northeast part of the map for your next objective. Be careful because once you get over there you will notice some patrolling enemies that have guns. Take them out sneakily to avoid any gunfire as Catwoman has less health than Batman. Once you get inside to your objective (crawl under the caged bridge leading into the building and you can eventually climb back up) you will have to face three waves of enemies. Dispatch the first batch and then quickly whip up to the next floor as poisonous gas will gradually fill up the room. Repeat the same steps with the second floor and then finally the third (being mindful of the projectile-firing flower in the background) to wrap up this segment with Catwoman, and unlock:

From this point you can now randomly come across Political Prisoners, helping them will start the side mission, Acts of Violence.

Back to controlling Batman you will now be tasked with finding Mr Freeze and he is hiding somewhere in Arkham City, and this particular "somewhere" happens to be the GCPD building (northeast on the map). Whilst heading there you will have the chance to pick up side mission, Shot in the Dark. Head over to the GCPD building and fight the few thugs outside the building and then head inside via a roller shutter located on the floor beneath the grates you can hide in. Use the Remote Electrical Charge to open the shutters. Once inside you will have to fight more thugs. This is another Predator room so carefully make your way around the room and take everyone out quickly and quietly. Afterwards you will become trapped in the building before being able to leave, but by going through the floor grates into the adjacent room you can hack the console to get you out of the building.

You're going to have to head to the museum, firstly head to the church to start the side mission, Enigma Conundrum.

Now to track down Mr Freeze for real this time, he is located in the southwest part of the map. Batman will soon find out that he'll need to destroy three signal jammers that have been hidden around the city. Follow the waypoint to each one (the last one being in the subway system, which will require a bit more work. If you have the side mission for the TITAN barrels, one is hidden down here) once you destroy the last signal jammer you unlock:

After making your way out of the subway you will be alerted to the following side mission, Identity Theft.

Make your way back to the museum. When in the museum keep an eye out for penguin statues that you can smash with your Batarang, this will save time later. Upon entering go immediately right and within that room is an access point to hack. Proceed down the stairs and take out 3 enemies. After speaking to the cop he will inform you that there are 10 other members of his unit that are missing, start your search to rescue them. This will ultimately lead to you a cut scene with Penguin and then an arena type battle. After killing the enemies in the 2nd wave which includes a titan you will receive:

  • Gladiator

    Last man standing

1 guideGuide for Batman: Arkham City (34)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (35)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (36)

Find a way out of this room, (you will have to use the Remote Batarang, look up and throw the Batarang. Slow it down using LT and you want to aim for the room on the left, direct it down the stairs and hit the switch opening the gate) and you will soon come to the enormous Torture Chamber, a room mostly covered with ice. Don't let the ice fool you as it is very fragile and Batman must cross it with care, use RT to move faster across the ice. You'll soon figure this all out once you rescue your first person who is standing out on the ice. You will then need to rescue two other people, so use your Batclaw and pull down one of the suspended platforms that are dangling from the ceiling and jump on it. Use the shiny hooks to use your Batclaw and pull your raft around the room to the guys you need to rescue. You will then notice that there are large rooms to the north and south of the Torture Chamber, but head south first to enter the War Room. (Look for the TITAN barrel in this room) In here you will need to try and use explosive gel on one of the walls. Keyword here is "try." You will be rudely interrupted by a Lieutenant and some goons, dispatch them and then look for the access point to hack. Upon hacking this you will have a cut scene with Mr Freeze, he will give you further instructions to get his suit for him.

Head back to the Torture Chamber and go to the room up north to enter the Armory. This is another Predator room, so use gargoyles, breakable walls, grates, or whatever else to clean up this room and investigate Mr Freeze's suit.

Finally, head back to the Torture Chamber and head towards the last room available. Survive the very scary shark attack by tapping X and make your way to the Iceburg Lounge. Upon entering this area you will be up against Penguin who will be periodically shooting you with Mr Freeze's gun, make your way around the perimeter of the room (stopping when necessary to avoid blasts from the gun) and get to the walkway where the boss is. Edge forward until you are about halfway along the walkway and hover the Disruptor over Penguin, hold LT and then punch him.

You will have a cut scene, and then onto the fight with Soloman Grundy. The main premise of this battle is to avoid the boss's slams and chain swings while spraying/detonating explosive gel on the pads around the room. The best time to do this is whilst the pads are glowing red. Once all the pads are gone you will then need to attack the boss straight up. The boss will now be more aggressive after being overloaded with electricity, just repeat the process again, however this time you will have to time placing the gel as shutters are opening and closing over the pads. Once all 3 pads are gone, attack him to unlock:

  • Wrecking Ball

    Stop the unstoppable

Guide for Batman: Arkham City (37)

2 guidesGuide for Batman: Arkham City (38)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (39)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (40)

Approach Soloman Grundy to finish him off, to find that he will grab you. When prompted tap A, and repeat the process from before, this time you have an electric shock wave to deal with, this is easy to avoid by double tapping A. Kill him to start a cut scene with Penguin, and eventually a fight with him. This fight is easy, just dodge the incoming missiles, beat Penguin up and get a cut scene with Mr Freeze to lead to the next part of the story.

After the cut scene enable detective mode and follow the trail, this will lead to the building on the map which is directly below the "P" in Park Row. Once the blood trail ends search for more evidence, namely the bandage. This then starts a foot chase with an assassin and eventually a fight, counter the assassin to plant a tracking device on her. At the end of this you will have a cut scene where Robin will pass you a new gadget, the Line Launcher.

Follow the tracking device, be careful as there are a number of goons with guns at the end of the track. Head into the subway to continue following the track, you will be required to use the Line Launcher to move around successfully. Whilst down in the subway keep an eye out for Jokers teeth, required for Riddlers challenge.

Eventually you will end up in a room where a female doctor is held hostage, this is another predator room containing 6 goons, but with a twist. One of the goons is walking around with a mobile signal jammer preventing you from scanning the room. This goon should be your main target. This room also contains one of the TITAN barrels. After defeating the goons, rescue the doctor for a short cut scene and then back to following the track, leading you to Wonder City.

On entering Wonder City you will be jumped by 3 assassins, dispatch them, destroy the breakable surface on the floor and charge the gate open, on entering the next room you will unlock:

  • Lost And Found

Uncover the secret of Arkham City

Guide for Batman: Arkham City (41)

2 guidesGuide for Batman: Arkham City (42)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (43)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (44)

Walk towards a large door at the end of the room to activate a cut scene, and then scan one of the mechanical guardians. After scanning the first guardian, the scan will be interrupted and you'll have to find several more guardians scattered around the area, use detective mode to track them down. Be warned you will be ambushed by assassins on 3 occasions. Once you have scanned all the info go ahead and find the secret entrance, located next to the door with the seal. Interact with the door and you will get ambushed by a solitary assassin. Counter the attack and this will open the entrance, proceed within.

After climbing ladders, you will have a cut scene. Head straight forward into the Chamber of the Demon, and into another cut scene where you will commence with the trial of the demon. Follow the instructions from Ra al Ghul and using a mixture of gliding and dive bombing and grappling to manoeuvre through the area, don't feel obliged to copy his trail exactly although it does guide you very well. You will eventually get to an area where you have to fight two assassins. Kill those and repeat the glide and dive bombing, and make your way into the vortex avoiding the tree branch that will instantly kill you if you hit even a twig!

Time for more gliding and dive bombing, this time through buildings etc. and onto another ambush this time with 4 assassins, again kill them. Now follow Ra al Ghul through another vortex and speak to Talia, this will lead to a cut scene and a final encounter with him.

For this fight the first part is dodging his running attack, he will spawn into several assassins, either kill them all leaving only him or identify which one he is and attack him. Next he will transform into a giant version of himself, he will have statues circling him with gaps in-between, simply time your electric charge by tapping LT and B to get through the statue and hitting him. Upon hitting him the statues will spin faster just wait for the statues to slow down and repeat, during this phase just dodge the incoming attacks. Once you have taken his health down he will hide in the sand and leap out, this is just a matter of tapping Y continually, leading to a dialogue with Talia. Now back to the fight, again he will spawn numerous assassins, whittle them down one by one, being prepared to dodge his attacks and he will charge attack you. After defeating all of the assassins he will again transform into a giant version of himself, however this time he will swing a giant sword at you as well as the blue blades and ninja stars you have to dodge, everything comes at you twice as fast as it did previously so take your charge shots as and when you can. It is now a case of spamming Y until directed to give him a beat down using X. Use the reverse Batarang by holding RB and releasing and upon successfully getting his blood you will unlock:

You now have to make your way to Mr Freeze in the GCPD building, but before doing so you have to make your way out of the subway. There are 6 goons, 1 with a remote signal jammer and several with night vision goggles. Take them out and make you way through to the exit. The gate you entered through will be locked, look into the area in front of you behind bars you will see a button that can be hit using a remote Batarang through a small gap, hitting this button will activate a cut scene with Killer Croc. Head back into the subway terminal and to the opposite side where it has a sign saying No Exit, there will be a Catwoman Riddler trophy on the ceiling and below this is a roller shutter to be opened using the Electrical Charge, go ahead and fight 3 goons, and head to the Subway Station where there are a number of goons to fight, kill them and move on.

You will hear a radio message announcing that Mayor Quincy Sharp has arrived as a new inmate, your task is to interrogate him. He is surrounded by 5 armed goons. Take them out allowing you to interrogate him. At this point you will be able to access side mission, Remote Hideaway this is simply a case of heading to the Iceburg Lounge and speaking to the cops to get a modified disruptor. It is advisable to complete this now as this gadget is important. You can also progress to the end of the Identity Theft side mission now if you so wish.

Irrespective of whether you have done the side mission or not, head to the GCPD building to progress the main storyline.

After handing the blood to Mr Freeze you will have a cut scene, and then you will be required to fight him.

This battle is simple enough, it's a case of luring him around and not getting hit by his freeze ray. Once he is on the ground floor look for the button on the wall to activate the electricity and get him to walk near it, stunning him. Once he is stunned attack him, look for the AC motors scattered on the walls to use RB with the Electric Charge gadget. Use the Disruptor gadget when he gets close enough. You will also be required to do a variety of attacks, like hiding in the grate for a takedown, silent takedown. As he becomes adaptive to Batman's moves. You have to be varied and eventually once you take all his health you will unlock:

  • Hide And Seek

After the fight you will have a small cut scene and your aim is to now infiltrate the Steel Mill for the 2nd time to retrieve the cure from Joker. This automatically hands you the side mission, Heart of Ice, you also receive a new gadget, Freeze Blast.

Exit the GCPD building and watch a news reporters helicopter get shot down. You now have to rescue Vicki Vale from the crash site. There are 4 snipers on the roof top to deal with, stealth is the best option here. Rescue Vicki Vale, and after another cut scene you will now be required to infiltrate the Steel Mill. The side mission, the Tea Party is now available.

Making your way to the Steel Mill, you cannot re-enter the same way as before, instead you will need to head to the south part of the building, (open the map and looking at the Steel Mill you want to be aiming for the little rectangle bit that sticks out the bottom of the building) when you get to the area there will be two snipers, take them out there are also a number of armed goons. To be certain you are in the correct area the door you need to enter is surrounded by a large clown mask with multi-coloured wings with flashing lights and two dancing bears balancing on balls either side of the door, it's very creepy looking. Once you dispatch the goons, head in.

I would recommend as you are making your way around the Steel Mill to use your Remote Electrical Charge on the Harley statues head, as this will save you time later.

Immediately entering the next area are 3 goons to take out, and also adjacent to the door (to the left) is a TITAN barrel. Use the Freeze Blast to make a platform in the water and crouch. Select the Batclaw and pull yourself to the next safe platform. You will now see a large turbine in the middle of the water, create another ice platform and using the Batclaw manoeuvre around the turbine to get to an area to grapple. Look to the left to access a vent, and to another frozen platform area. Enter detective mode to see the destructible wall and this is your aim. Stand directly opposite the wall and the option will be there to do a glide kick, press X and fight off 6 goons leading to a video with Joker.

Go through the door and deal with the 3 goons. Now enter detective mode to find a destructible wall, destroy this and it’s time for another frozen platform moment, avoid the turbine by using the Batclaw to pull yourself to the opposite wall, now duck under the door. As soon as you get under the gate look to the right and Batclaw into this area, jump on the platform to the right and using the Line Launcher hit the wall opposite. There will be an open steam vent, freeze this and move forward, repeat this again with another steam vent.

Create a frozen platform and pull yourself over to the ledge using the Batclaw, and climb up. You will now be faced with a chain link fence and a fuse box behind it. Look to the right to see a closed gate with several gaps. Throw a remote Batarang through one of the gaps, aim for the electric coil opposite and more specifically the electricity. Flying the Batarang through the electricity will give it a charge. Perform a U-turn with the Batarang and aim for the gap on the right hand side and hit the fuse box opening the gates. Create a frozen platform and glide down, pull yourself along and look up to the right, you will have to grapple up and use the Cryptographic Sequencer to hack the terminal dropping a walkway, now make your way across, and into a cut scene with Dr Baker.

Cut scene done, head through the door into the smelting chamber. There are 7 goons to take out, including 2 with proximity mines. Use the Mine Disruptor (if you completed the side mission Remote Hideaway) to disable the mines. After taking out the 7 goons make your way through into the next room, where you will find a sniper. This room contains proximity mines. Jump through the window and hide behind the bumper cars, drop a smoke bomb quick throw a Batarang and then take the sniper out. Grapple up to the next area to find Harley tied and gagged, un-gag her by pressing A and she will start the side mission, Hot and Cold.

Make your way past Harley, look for the opening to the left and duck through this into the next room and then go through the double doors to the right.

In this room there are 5 goons, 2 of which are snipers. Grapple up to the left of the snipers and shimmy under then, Y to perform a double takedown and the dispatch the remaining goons. If you want to finish Hot and Cold now. Head to the far end of this room where when you enter detective mode you will see a roller shutter to be opened with the Electrical Charge. Anyway progressing with the main story, grapple up where the 2 snipers were and climb into this area, now follow the arrows on the floor, through some double doors and to a cut scene with Joker.

Cut scene finished time to fight Joker. Firstly just hit him a few times and then you will have a seemingly endless spawn of goons to contest with, including a 1 arm lieutenant and a Titan, make sure you avoid the train tracks. After destroying the goons, and hitting Joker a few times you will get a cut scene and unlock:

  • Ghost Train

Time for another Catwoman segment, after making a deal with Poison Ivy, head to the waypoint and on arriving you will find 3 goons to deal with, finish them and enter the manhole cover on the floor (enter thief vision if you're struggling to see it).

You will find yourself in the collapsed corridor, head through this into a security room, watch a cut scene and now your target is to pickpocket 3 Tyger guards without being seen or heard, this is just a case of watching the guards, take your time and when you are behind them press Y.

After you collect all 3 cards head back to the security office and use the computer, now it's time to get into the vault, firstly take out the 5 goons and enter the vault to face another 6 goons. After defeating those goons, pick up Ivy's plant and then eventually pick up the briefcases to unlock:

  • Pick Pocket

Steal the score of a lifetime

Guide for Batman: Arkham City (57)

1 guideGuide for Batman: Arkham City (58)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (59)Guide for Batman: Arkham City (60)

Escape the vault by following the red line on the floor, if you did this you'll get early credits and find out that Joker has won. The game will rewind itself, this time follow the green line to save Batman, head back through the collapsed corridor and up the ladders. You'll have a cut scene and now back to controlling Batman.

After speaking to Alfred and Oracle you will be required to scan Tyger helicopters, be careful they will target and shoot you, killing you quickly. The helicopters you have scanned will show up blue in detective mode and the others will be orange. You need to get up close to scan them. Once you find the correct one, grapple on to it and press X.

Once you have the code it is time to head to Wonder tower. The tower is guarded by 2 snipers, take them out and hack the terminal the access the gate.

Walk to the end of the corridor and use the Electrical Charge to open the roller shutter, enter this room and glide down the hole in the middle to the platform below, again open the roller shutter with the Electrical Charge.

Open the door at the end of the corridor to locate Political prisoners surrounded by goons, dispose of them. You will be forced to watch a video of Hugo Strange, and then prepare to fight a large number of goons. (This is actually a good spot to get achievement Gadget Attack, see Riddler Combat, Predator and Campaign challenges on how to do this)

Go into detective mode and look to the floor for a manhole cover, head down it into the Collaped Streets.

Keep an eye out for demon seals (these look like stone gargoyle heads with glowing eyes and a stone ring underneath) pull these down with the Batclaw to save time later.

Make your way along the corridor and drop down onto a platform. Walk to the end and turn right. Use the Line Launcher to make your way across. Turn 180 degrees and use the Line Launcher to head back the way you came, this time press LT just before halfway and when you see the platform with the Riddler trophy aim for that. You will safely be on this platform. Look across to see a trapped Riddler trophy, use the Line Launcher on this wall and half way down press LT and look left this is your destination.

You should be in a room with a large Riddler question mark on the ceiling, the floor is destructible so using the Explosive Gel, destroy the floor and drop down.

Head through the door and speak to Fiona Wilson for a cut scene. Time for another predator scenario with 8 goons. Once you deal with them head to the elevator in the centre, this will require you to hack the terminal to open the door and then once inside hack the terminal to get it moving. When the elevator comes to a stop you will hear guards outside ready to ambush you, grapple through the opening in the roof and take them down, there are 6 goons to deal with.

After defeating the goons look at the elevator, to the right is a terminal to hack, jump through the gate you have just opened. Walk to the end of this path, and press RT and A to climb down, shimmy across and drop down to the first safe platform, then look up to grapple to a higher ledge. Look to you left to see a small metal bar protruding leap across to this and pull yourself up, clamber across the girders that has a number of metal bars sticking out in the shape of a religious cross. When you get the end of the girder look up and grapple, look to the right and grapple up again.

Climb the ladder, and jump the gap where the elevator shaft is. Turn right and follow the path to a metal girder linked to another with a cable. Walk along this girder, across the cable and finally along the 2nd girder. Grapple up to another platform. (This is a chance to do achievement Gotham Base Jumper, see side missions section, 14. Miscellaneous achievements.)

Now you are at the top of the tower, look to the back to find a terminal, hack it opening up the maintenance hatch, grapple up to this. Make your way into the tunnels under a room with 6 goons, take them out. The difficulty in this room is that Hugo Strange is observing and will notify the guards if he sees you.

After removing the guards, make your way to the room in the centre and hack the door. You will now have a long cut scene, after this is completed you will unlock:

  • Freefall

    Don't look down

After speaking to Oracle, and watching the Joker on the big screen you have to follow the tracking beacon to Talia's location. The good thing is that all the Tyger helicopters have now returned to base so they won't be bothering you.

Talia is surrounded by rooftop snipers, so make sure you work your way around to take those out. Once you've removed the snipers head into the Theatre.

You will now have to watch another cut scene, and then onto a fight with Clayface. The first phase of this fight is easy, use RT RT to whittle his health down, dodging his attacks, and when he turns into a ball dodge it, and when he collides with something his health will be rapidly taken down. Once he hits low health for the first time and is frozen to the ground, approach him and start punching him.

Phase two is much like phase one, just he will attempt to hit you more times, just keep dodging and spamming RT RT until he's frozen to the spot, this time you will hack him up and then Joker will blow a hole in the ground causing you to fall to a lower level.

Phase three is easy, you will see his health is divided into orange and blue, orange represents the clay goons. Once you destroy enough of this get ready to dodge his spitting clay ball, then spam RT RT. Clayface will sink into his clay pool and the orange section will become bigger, just destroy the clay goons and then RT RT. Be mindful that Clayface seems to spit clay an extra time when he reappears from his pool, so first time he will spit once, second time twice and then third and fourth time spit three times. You shouldn't have him reappear more than 4 times, if you do, then he may spit more at you.

Approach Clayface and retrieve the vial to unlock:

Time for the final cut scene, credits and lovely singing by Joker.

Completing the game in normal or hard difficulty will allow you to enter New Game +, this is essentially identical to the game you've just completed except harder. You will carry over all gadgets and improvements. It is beneficial to do all the Riddler trophies and Riddles etc. now in your existing game as it is easier, and you won't have to worry about them in the harder game play. This will also be a good time to mop up the side missions as you have to do all of them in both New Game and New Game + for the final achievement, but if you've been doing the side missions as they have popped up you shouldn't have too much to finish off.

After the credits have finished, you will control Catwoman. You are now trying to retrieve her loot before leaving Arkham for good. Head to her apartment to find it's been booby trapped, you then have to deal with 4 goons. You will now discover that Two Face has your loot and he is waiting in the museum. Upon entering the museum head to the armoury, you will face a number of Goons along the way. When you get into the torture chamber head to the right and look up for a grate to pounce upto. Having entered the armoury you will see Two Face on the bridge, and an unlimited amount of goons in the room (they will just keep re spawning) so the best method is to take one of the goons out down the bottom, luring the rest down there, and then head quickly to Two Face, just continually beat him up, he's easy. A cut scene will tell you he has given half your loot away, another cut scene and you will be back in control of Batman. There will be three switch points dotted around the map so you can free roam with Batman and Catwoman.

I would suggest switching back to Catwoman so you can work on another achievement. Enter thief vision to try and find which goons have your loot. They will be pulsing a red colour and have a gem over their head. These goons are exclusively in the Park Row and Bowery areas. When you have found a goon matching the above description, defeat them and you will retrieve your loot, you need to do this a total of 16 times and you will unlock:

  • Family Jewels

    Retrieve your stolen goods

After obtaining this, you will have three achievements left in the Catwoman DLC, two of which relate to Combat/Campaign challenges, and this will be mentioned in Riddler challenges segment of the walkthrough.

The last one you have to worry about for the moment, is collecting the 40 Riddler grid items for Catwoman, you have to collect 5 items for each area on the map excluding Wonder City, and complete 5 physical challenges. Obtaining all 40 will unlock:

  • Sphinx' Riddle

Complete all 40 of the Catwoman Riddler grid items

The only boss I struggled with in New Game Plus in comparison to the 1st playthrough was Mr Freeze, mainly because you have to hit him in 10 different ways. Also do not stay in detective mode for too long as otherwise it will get scrambled, this will fade away after time.

So to help out, these are the 10 methods to attack him:
1 - Lure him into the water on the ground floor and press the switch to electrocute him.
2 - Explosive Gel on a wall and lure him behind the wall to hit him with the rubble.
3 - Silent Takedown from behind
4 - Glide Kick
5 - Remote Electrical Charge on a generator
6 - Inverted Ledge Takedown (crouch on railing above a doorway and when he walks through press Y)
7 - Window Takedown
8 - Hide in the floor grate and complete a takedown
9 - Line Launcher to the back
10 - Disruptor on his gun

Completing New Game + will unlock:

  • Twice Nightly

So now to the final achievement in the game, if you have followed the guide, and got all the other achievements this shouldn't be tough.

To obtain the last achievement, you need to have collected all of the Riddlers trophies, riddles, and misc. collectibles, I.e. Balloons, Camera's, penguins and so on. You have to also complete all of Batman's physical challenges, (to find which physical challenges remain, press back, LB once and the head to the final tab on the right) this isn't so bad as if you didn't quite get all of them in your first run through, the likelihood is that you mopped them up in New Game +. If you are struggling, check out the link at the top for trophy locations etc.

You have to also complete all the side missions in both playthroughs (this includes the 16 political prisoners unfortunately) and unlock all the upgrades for Batman. You do not have to collect all the Riddler trophies again, but you do need to save the hostages in both games.

Finally you have to also get 72 gold medals in the ranked challenges and 108 medals in the campaign challenges.

Once you have done the above and completed the game in New Game +, you will unlock:

  • Perfect Knight - Day 2

Complete every challenge in Arkham City

With that you should have obtained every achievement in the main game, if not check out the side missions section to finish up.

I hope the guide has been of use to you all, thanks to all TA members who permitted use of their solutions/maps.
