Gameplay Help and Discussion - Need help with Poison SRS - Forum - Path of Exile (2024)

I always thought my PC isnt strong enough for a minion build.
Now i know. He isnt.

Anyway, i dont give a damn.
But what a care about is my animate guardian.
I equipped him with only the finest gear but it doesnt work like intended.
I gave him a +1 level to all minion skill gems but it doesnt count.
Only the +1 from my helmet counts. Is that intended? And do enchantments work?

Also i gave him cospris malice for the additional curse.
Although that works, no explosions from Asenath's Gentle Touch.

He also has Culling strike. But the Bosses dont care.
Have to grind them down to the last bit.

I see many profile on PoENinja that use Severed in Sleep but also use Withering Touch in their 6link. Does that makes sense?

Also, is there a hotkey for the SRS spam that doesnt affect the movement?

Buffs to minions on the AGs gear will ONLY affect HIS minions, not yours.
So it works as intended.
Unless the stats on the gear do affect ALLIES, that would include yourself and your minions.

Is he applying a 2nd curse? Temp Chains to be precise. You should be able to spot the debuff icon on enemies if he does apply his curse.

The AG doesnt use any sort of skills or gems socketed in his gear. He is limited to his default attack. Thats all he is ever going to do.
So if you want him to cull, you have make sure his default attack can cull and the only way to do it is by giving him gear that allows to cull - like Kingmaker. Nothing else will work.

Because SRS deals phys dmg as base dmg. Yes its fully converted to fire dmg but at its core, its still phys dmg. Withering Touch adds 29% of phys dmg as extra Chaos dmg and thus scales the base poison dmg significantly.
Thats why Withering Touch is still a powerful support gem, even though the secondary effect of applying Wither stacks isnt needed anymore.

If you dont want to stand still and cast SRS for ages then (Awakened) Unleash is your best bet. It will allow you to summon one single SRS plus how ever many seals it has stored on top. Baseline is 3 seals or charges, meaning you will summon 4 SRS per cast, if you wait and allow the seals to recharge.
Awakened Unleash will summon 5 per cast and you could add more via cluster jewels or Masteries.
Thats up tp you. Normal Unleash is usually good enough and you dont have to bother, if you dont want to.

He gets his Culling from that weapon.

And yes, the 2nd Curse is applied. Enemies have the two curse icons.

If he does apply temp chains enemies should explode.

Its just not a flashy explosion and somewhat hard to spot. Honestly, I wouldnt call it an explosion to begin with. Its more like enemies dissolving into a cloud of golden sparks.
There is no sound effect to it and it isnt standing out visually whatsover.
You might just overlook it.
I dont see a reason why they wouldnt explode.

Ive never used that weapon. Its a local modifier on the weapon and Im not sure if it does affect default attacks. You would have to test that by equipping that weapon and killing something only using default attack.
It might work, however gut feeling says it doesnt work.
Cull is still a support and default attacks cant be supported.

Kingmakers wording is different. It says "Nearby allies HAVE culling strike".
So its not the AG doing the culling but everyone else around him and its not a support, the wording implies its adding a specific behavior.

Thats the difference as far as I can tell without any testing whatsoever.
Thats also why my gutfeeling says Relentless Fury wont work.
A quick google search didnt confirm anyone is using this setup, so I dont think it works.

When i unequip my fortify boots, AG doesnt get fortified anymore.
Another Div bites the dust.
Well, i guess its the learning curve that keeps most of us playing anyway.

BTW you do know your Minions cant apply poison at all right now, right?
You would need United in Dreams plus another 40% chance to poison for minions across your jewels to make that happen.

Which means Despair, Withering Touch. Unbound Ailments, Malevolence and all that stuff does straight up nothing for you at the moment.

Yes, i "know" (uncomfortable using that word in PoE)

I have one (severed in sleep) and when i tested it in PoB with 10 stack on avg it gave me just 4,4% more dps for SRS.
And because i didnt feel any differene in maps at all, i though the other Minion Buffs on the wand should compensate that.

Writing that makes me also feel uncomfortable.

And as we speaking i just found this one a minute ago.
Which also increased my gut feeling towards a wand.

Isnt it the same as United in Dreams except it has the additional Minion damage explicit?
